After witnessing his mother’s death, a once outgoing preschooler is now a quiet shadow of himself. The little boy suffers nightmares and rarely speaks, choosing to use the basic sign language he learned in daycare. Desperate to help his little nephew, Virge Stevens takes a leave of absence from the LAPD to bring Donovan, known as D to Montana for the therapy he needs.
A chance meeting at the library changes Virge and his nephew’s lives forever.
Jared Malone is one of five brothers, right smack damn in the middle. He is the peacemaker and the one who gets shit done. When his younger brother gets sick, Jared fills in reading to small children at the library. There he encounters a tall, dark, and handsome stranger and his cute little boy. Jared is immediately drawn to Virge but is still dealing with the betrayal of an abusive ex.
As the Malone family welcomes them to the ranch and into their lives, Virge’s instant attraction for Jared grows, but the cowboy is fifteen years younger than him. Will he be rejected?
Both men have secrets. Secrets that could destroy the connection between them. Can they overcome the odds and find happiness together?
Another blond cowboy stood in the middle, working with a horse. He had a long rope around its neck, guiding it around the ring at a quick clip. The shirtless cowboy spoke in a firm yet quiet tone. Virge nearly choked on his tongue, eyeing the golden skin and muscles on display. This was their cowboy.
The man whistled, and the horse stopped. He rubbed its shoulder, his back to them, as they reached the ring’s split-rail fence.
“Daddy!” D shrieked, and the horse whinnied and shied, bumping into the man as it swung around.
“Whoa, easy, Spike,” the cowboy soothed.
Virge struggled to prevent his nephew from launching out of his arms while the cowboy calmed the large, skittish animal. He’d never been near a horse and was struck by its size and power, which the other man skillfully controlled. As the cowboy turned, Virge saw a tattoo on his chest. A redwing blackbird with a rainbow-hued ribbon dangling from its beak. His heart beat a little faster seeing the colorful ink. Could he be gay? The cowboy handed the rope to a dark-haired man before pulling on a T-shirt that stretched tight over those muscles. He suppressed a disappointed sigh.
Nate chuckled. “You’ve got some explaining to do, bro.”
“Hi, I’m Jared. I remember you from the library.” He approached with a rolling gait Virge found extremely sexy and offered his hand after wiping it against his denim-clad thigh. Damn, he was built all over and tall, just an inch or two shorter than his own height.
Virge shook his hand, hyperaware of the firm grasp of warm, work-hardened skin. “I’m Virge, and this is Donovan. He goes by D.”
“Glad you could make it out—”
“Why did he call Jared daddy?” Nate interrupted.
“He calls all men daddy and women mommy. If he especially likes someone, he adds their first names. D doesn’t talk much, so he must like Jared.” What about this cowboy had inspired his nephew to talk?

I didn’t set out to deliberately ruin my life. I don’t guess anyone does, and then when the walls come crashing down, it’s just so . . . surprising. One day you wake up and nothing looks the same anymore and the next, people are asking you why you’re destroying their lives. I don’t know. I woke up on one of those desperately close mornings in July when the air feels like a blanket and nothing was the same any more. I didn’t even like my coffee the same way anymore. It might have been meeting Daisy Bledsoe. Or it could have been a virus, God only knows. All I can tell you is that on that morning, everything changed.
She wasn’t the prettiest girl I ever saw. She was tall and weathered and snaggle-toothed, but when she smiled her face lit up and you couldn’t resist smiling too. She certainly wasn’t the smartest girl I ever met, either. There were times I wanted to pull my hair out over the things she did. But on that July morning, she mesmerized me, and before I knew it I was making decisions that snowballed into a freight train that could have ruined my life. Strange but true, I think I’d do it all over again.
I must have been about twenty when Pa sent me to Tom Harmon’s place to see if he had a fuel pump for our old tractor. I had never been out to Harmon’s before and missed my turn. I came down a road that just kept getting narrower until I had no choice but to go forward. I found myself on a grass track that petered out among dead machines and rusting farm implements in front of her house. I finally found a place where I could turn around, but that was when I met Daisy.
It was hot and I had the windows down. I came round a bend and a big black dog decided I didn’t belong there. He jumped up at the window of Pa’s truck raising hell. All I could do is hit the brakes and lean away.
“Max!” I heard a voice like a sack of gravel shout, “Come heah.” Max shut up and left the side of my truck, making me happy. One look at her, and I knew I was lost.
“Can I help you?”
“I believe you already have.”

*leather wearing dominatrix sneaks into room* “Shh, don’t tell my slave I’m here.” *looks around, the smiles* “I bet you’re wondering who I am? Well, Livvy’s my name, and driving Dakota insane is my game. Which I’m pretty damned good at if you haven’t figured out yet.”
*leans against the wall* “If you’ve been following for this past week, you’ll know the gist of my visit today to the lovely V.S. Morgan’s blog. I need to leave these…” *holds up a carton of eggs* “for slave to find. What…you thought I really wanted to keep them? Not! I just want to make her chase after me. The last thing I need is a carton of crappy eggs…”
*smirks* “Not that I expect her to be happy when she opens it. Cause I might have just used a marker to write all the names of her doms from of Napa on them. Let’s see her break Ethan or Davis to make that damned pumpkin pie.”
*evil grin* “But that’s my job – to get her blood pumping. Hot sexy scenes or pure unadulterated anger….either works for me.”
*glances around room* “I’ll leave them just here…” *lays them on a convenient table* “Now, I think I’ll get out of here before Dakota shows up…but first…” *snaps fingers* “I probably should give you all that crap about her giveaway.”
*fingers stolen flogger, then sighs* “Okay here’s the scoop. Dakota is bribing you guys, to retrieve those things…” *nods towards carton* “…with stuff. Something about signed print copies of the Napa series, this flogger…” *clutches said flogger* “….which isn’t gonna happen. It’s mine! And some swag, bookmarks, tins and such.” *rolls eyes* “All you have to do is enter the items you found in that rafflecopter thingy below.”
*sound of approaching footsteps*
“Okay, I really got to go, but slave will be drawing a winner from the entries on the 19th and posting it on her author facebook page. And she also put Alyce’s book on sale up until it’s release on the 18th. Guess she discounted it to $2.99 - which I told her was crazy. That book is at least worth five bucks. But she never listens to me anymore. Anyway, if you want to take advantage of her…I mean the deal click here.”
*door creaks open*
“Okay I’m out of here. Later.” *disappears*
*Dakota walks into room* Damnit, she did it again, didn’t she? *glances around for the now absent muse* Well, at least she left me the item. *reaches for carton and sees note on top* Should’ve made my fudge – it doesn’t require mass murder… What the… *opens carton*
I have no words….oh, yes, I do…but not suitable for polite company! I’m gonna….well, lets just say what I’m going to do to that damned muse of mine is not for public consumption, but I foresee a trip to Lucian’s tavern in her future!” *takes deep breath, then another….* I’d like to apologize to V.S. for my muse’s antics….” *hands V.S. a batch of freshly baked cookies* “…and thank her for allowing me to visit today. Livvy and I will be at the steamy Pauline Allan’s blog….if I haven’t bound, gagged and delivered her to Lucian… *stomps out of room*
After sexy cover model Yushka proposed, life is more turbulent than ever for erotic romance author Andrea. He is expecting a baby with his ex-girlfriend, who says she doesn’t want to keep it. How will Andrea's sons take upcoming life changes? To make things more complicated, her ex goes to great lengths to coax her back, and one of her sons' girlfriend is a tad too interested in Andrea's young and very handsome fiancé...
On the writing front, Andrea anxiously awaits news on her latest manuscript submission, and she has to decide whether to accept her publisher's offer to model in a sexy photo shoot—the same kind she and Yushka did in Cannes—in the hopes of making a new "Cover Photo of the Year". Considering the erotic poses the previous photographer demanded, can Andrea model with another guy other than Yushka?
We enter a hall so big the tiniest sound echoes. It’s quite humbling. I shrink in my clothes and barely dare to breathe. Dark wood furniture towers over us, with a mix of contradictory smells—orchid-scented sanitizer and old dust—filling the space.
Shoes clamping on a hardwood floor, we follow the tall, silver-haired man into a living room with exquisite furniture, gold-framed mirrors, and classic paintings on the walls. Heavy velvet curtains adorn the windows, and an impressive floor-to-ceiling library on one side has to contain literary curiosities from every part of the world. Marveling, I study each magnificent object.
The man stops and glares across the room, his facial expression clearly one of annoyance. What an oppressive atmosphere.
Yushka stands beside him and stares in the same direction.
I follow their gaze. A young and strikingly beautiful woman is half-seated on a green velvet couch with her legs folded underneath her. Dark doe eyes and pink lips stand out in a pale, oval face. A waterfall of rich, glowing auburn-colored hair contrasts with her white dress. She looks cast in a scene from the Russian classic Doctor Zhivago. Beneath full breasts, a pregnant belly protrudes, far too round and big for her frail frame. Jekaterina?
My chest tightens. The more I look at her, the more her beauty takes my breath away. She’s the woman Yushka was in love with last year. The one he slept with and impregnated.
Her gaze is riveted on him, the recognition and warmth fiery.
I shoot him a glance. His features are tight, as if he’s trying to hide his reaction, but he doesn’t take his gaze off her. This is exactly what I feared. They’ve had feelings for each other. Maybe meeting now will revive them. He has fallen for her once, so why would he not fall for her again?
I feel bad, nauseous, want to get out of here. But she’s carrying the baby girl I’m going to call mine very soon. I need to overcome my unease. Hopefully, once the formalities are done, this is the only time we’ll have to meet.
She tells him a few words in Russian, her voice the cooing of a turtledove.
Yushka replies calmly, but his throat sounds choked. He grabs my hand, palm sweaty, and leads me to a sofa opposite hers. His discomfort is more than clear in his features. He tears his gaze from her and searches me, his expression vibrating with an intensity I seldom see. It hits me—he’s afraid.'
I squeeze his hand. “Is everything okay?”
“Yes,” he replies instantly, but his tension is palpable.
My chest tightens to a painful level. What is he so nervous about? From his interaction with Jekaterina, this has nothing to do with the baby. It’s about them, their relationship, and me. Is he afraid he’ll have to choose between us?
Goodness, I’m delirious. I sit very still, take small, shallow breaths, and pray for everything to be all right. Then bolt out of this house after the arrangements are resolved.
Jekaterina addresses me, her dark pupils glimmering. “You’re very beautiful. Are you a model, too?”
I’m as taken aback by her speaking a fluent English as I am by her compliment, and need a few seconds to shake myself. “Um, no, I’m not.”
She raises a brow. “That’s funny. I would’ve sworn you were a model. So how did you two meet?”
“At an author conference.”
Yushka clears his throat. “Andrea writes books, and I’m featured on the cover of her last one.”
“Oh, how exciting.” Her lips curve upward. I can’t decide whether it’s a genuine smile or she’s faking it.
“Yes,” he continues. “That’s why we … uh … were bound to meet. They had organized a Meet-and-Greet for authors and cover models of their books.” Why does he sound like he’s trying to make an excuse?
She flutters her long lashes at me. “What kind of books do you write?”
Before I can answer, her father walks over to a cabinet and picks up a bunch of papers. “All right, enough chit-chat.” His voice booms like thunder.

ABOUT LEA BRONSEN'S STORY "COME ABOARD"
Lorna, a young American reporter, travels to a port town in France to cover a yacht race. She hopes she’ll be able to experience her wildest fantasy on the beach – sex in public. Due to getting on the wrong train, she has an argument with the controller, who she finds both immensely sexy and annoyingly arrogant.
When he brings her to the engine, pretending to restrain her but instead getting intimate with her, she sees the opportunity to live out her fantasy…
If lucky, I might even meet a handsome Frenchman with whom to spend Saturday night. I’m single, have been for the past few months, and at twenty-three, the lack of sex for such a long time is driving me half-nuts. An interlude with a local hotness on one of the warm beaches of Sables sounds like an irresistible idea. Yes, a beach, or any other public place. The eBook I’m reading features a heroine getting the fuck of her life in an open park at night against a tree in full view of passersby. I want that kind of excitement, too. The three boyfriends I’ve had in the past few years were good in bed but not daring enough. I yearn for someone to do something crazy and a little forbidden with me, in public visibility. Surely, that hint of dangerousness, the possibility of being caught by the authorities, should increase the sexual experience—and our orgasms—tenfold.
For now, I’ll have to do with checking out the cute Maghrebian controller while waiting for him to examine my ticket. Row after row, he walks the narrow aisle toward me, distributing polite smiles to the passengers and answering questions. Tall and broad-shouldered, he has the looks and build of a soccer player. A black tribal tattoo appears below the short sleeve of his purple shirt and travels down his sun-kissed, muscular forearm. Beneath his gray cap, he sports a short buzz cut, and two or three days’ worth of black beard stubble covers his cheeks and chin, just enough to make him…oh, God, immensely sexy. With full lips, a strong nose, and black olive-shaped eyes, he’s a gem of North Africa, an exotic, roughly polished jewel. He would definitely fit in my fuck-on-the-beach fantasy.

Bryce raised his crossbow, lining his sights on the creature standing amongst the bushes, its branch-like tentacles undulating in the gentle breeze. Focusing the crosshairs on the alien’s torso, he drew in a deep breath. He had one shot. If he missed, the Erebus would cry out and alert the natives of Terra to its existence, resulting in more casualties. At first glance, no one on the planet, also called Earth, would believe an Erebus anything more than an overgrown bush, but Bryce knew the truth. He’d trained to hunt the creatures from childhood.
Each step carefully placed, he advanced until he stood twenty feet from the Erebus, no chance to miss the shot. With a slight movement of his finger, he squeezed the trigger, sending a zuranium-tipped arrow racing toward the alien.
“Quinn, would you grab me another garbage bag?”
Fornax. The creature lunged toward the female voice, Bryce’s arrow stuck in one of its tentacles. A kill, but not instant.
He loaded another arrow. At the risk of being seen, he charged through the hedges. He had to cut the Erebus off before it had a chance to kill the Terran. He leaped over metal furniture and large urns, keeping his focus on the creature.
“What the hell? Get out of my yard!”
The woman rushed him, but Bryce darted around her. When the Erebus lumbered in front of him, he raised his weapon and fired. A clean shot to the middle. The creature dropped like a fallen log, crushing the furniture it landed on.
Bryce loaded the crossbow again. No time to celebrate the kill. He had to worry about the possibility of other Erebus in the area, along with the Terran woman who had seen him. Instead of running away screaming, as he’d expected her to do, she stared, wide-eyed in horror. Not at him, but the Erebus. Her body trembled as she shuffled backward, mumbling incomprehensible words.
An unexpected sense of familiarity washed over him. He couldn’t draw his attention away from her slim figure, the way her long brown hair flowed over her shoulders. Far more attractive than he’d pictured the Terrans when others talked about them. He took a closer glance. Lalia? How had she traveled so far from home without anyone knowing? She was no stranger, and definitely not Terran. Or, perhaps she was simply a doppelganger of the woman he’d once loved. He had the sudden urge to comfort her, relieve her worry. Hold her in his arms the way he had many years ago. But what if the missing princess had somehow made her way to a planet unaware life existed beyond their own? After she’d left Hemera and him behind without so much as a goodbye, he’d searched everywhere. Though not once had he thought to look on Terra.
A ground-shattering bellow pierced the night. Bryce spun around, finding himself face-to-face with another Erebus. It stared at him with beady red eyes. Thick black goop dripped from its mouth.
Bryce raised his bow, but the creature slammed him with one of its tentacles, flinging him back. The Erebus lunged at Lalia.
Rolling to his knees, Bryce aimed and fired. He hit the alien from behind, launching it forward. Onto his former lover. Slinging the bow over his shoulder, he raced toward her. The creature’s tentacles still pulsed, even though dead. Careful not to trip himself up, he shoved his hands under the creature’s torso and heaved it off her.
Lalia stood immediately and wiped the black goop from her clothes, as if she hadn’t been flattened by an alien. “They weren’t supposed to follow me. I was supposed to be safe here.”

Like countless single mothers, Lexi Collins wears many hats. Loving daughter. Big sister. Sole breadwinner. Freelance photographer. Graphic designer. Best friend. But while those roles are fulfilling, the one thing that eludes her is finding the right partner in life.
When Colton Westmore, the sexy owner of the popular dating site, LoveMatch.com sweeps Lexi off her feet, her chances of finally grabbing that golden ring increase exponentially, but a bleached blonde bombshell threatens to put an end to Lexi’s new found happiness.
Are her assumptions about Colton wrong? And if so, there’s only one woman who can ruin the magic between them, and that woman is Lexi herself.
Colton took the few steps it required to cross the space, put his drink on the table behind me, and took the camera from around my neck. He placed it on the plush banquette tucked around the table. “I’ve been thinking about this all day,” he said.
“You’ve been thinking about removing my camera?”
“No.” He dipped his head, and brushed his lips across mine in a whisper-soft touch. A burn started and seemed to smolder between my legs. “I’ve been thinking about tasting your lips.”
Unable to stop myself, I dropped my unopened can. It made a dull thud when it hit the floor beside me. I stood up on my tiptoes, wrapped my arms around his strong neck, and pressed my lips to his.
His large hand rested between my shoulder blades and the other on my lower back. I actually hated the shirt I had on. Even though it was lightweight, the barrier of the material kept me from feeling his flesh on mine. My thoughts quickly changed back to his tongue as it traced along the curve of my upper lip. He nibbled at me. His hand slipped up to the back of my moist neck. He twined his fingers into my curls and tugged gently at the base of my hair, pulling my head back. He kissed my jaw. My exposed throat. Nuzzled his nose in the hollow there.
“You taste salty sweet,” he said in a voice that tantalized.
Feeling lightheaded, I moaned when he did a combination of open mouth caresses and teeth-nibbles on my skin. But, when he swept his lips up to my ear and drew the fleshy lobe into his mouth, I wanted to crumple.
“That feels so good,” I said. I shuddered in his arms.
“You’re beautiful, Lex.”
His warm breath gusting across my hot flesh and his words were enough to make chills ripple down my spine.
I slid my hands along the back of his shirt, feeling the muscles I had to see. I tugged at the bottom, lifting. “Take this off,” I said in a breathless pant, throwing any pretense of caution to the wind.
Colton brought his head up from my neck. Without hesitation, he ripped the T-shirt from over his head and dropped it. Tanned skin, immense biceps, large pectorals with small, pebbled, copper-colored nipples, and a slab of abdominal muscles greeted me.
I reached for him and fingered the ripples on his stomach before I kissed his flesh, peppering his chest with hot kisses. When I flicked his nipple with my tongue, the muscles beneath my hand and mouth jumped. I lightly bit. He groaned and moved the hair from my face. I glanced up at him from beneath my lashes. He was looking at me with an intensity that shook me for a moment, but I didn’t have time to dwell upon the emotion because he picked me up and sat my backside down on the table. My legs dangled over the edge. My flip-flops took a nosedive.
“Are you sure you want this?” Colton asked.
“What if I said I never wanted anything more?”
He unbuttoned my shirt and folded back the cotton fabric. “What if I said, I know.” It wasn’t a question.

“Really? Well, what if I told you we were already in a scene and you’d already submitted?” She gave him a wink and leaned back in her chair.
Submission didn’t always exist in a neat little box or behind closed doors. How often did the committed couples she’d seen at The Playroom prove the same? Some people only liked to conduct their play in private, but she’d watched men and women let go completely, allowing every decision to be made by their Dominant, down to clothing and food selections.
He frowned but didn’t break visual contact. “I’ve been accommodating, as a gentleman should be. I’m not asking for a spanking or to be tied up.”
“That’s where we’ll disagree. The things you’ve been doing are commands, not questions paired with fluttering lashes or coy looks. As for the tying and spanking, if you’re interested in the act, you can let me know now.” And instinct told her pain wouldn’t work on this one. “But a lot of submissive work has nothing to do with sex or inflicting pain. It’s about letting me in here.” She leaned forward and put her index and middle finger flat against his forehead.
He inhaled sharply at the contact and let his fork hit the plate.
Laney knew this would be the moment of truth, and she needed to ask. Needed finality on whether this date had a longer shelf life than an hour in a restaurant. In truth, she should’ve been out at his initial resistance, but his use of “never” goaded her to push, to prod. Men in her dungeon stayed far away from such a word.
“Do you want me in here?” She poked him again.
He finally lifted his head, a determined, neutral expression on his face. “If you think you can handle it.”

Hi everyone. Jane Ross, a reader, asked if I'd post here review of Hunter's Mark, my adult reimagining of the Grimm story "The Skillful Huntsman." Below is her review. Thank you, Jane.
An appreciation of V.S. Morgan’s Hunter's Mark
Hunter's Mark is one of the fantasy tales, developed by V.S. Morgan, and it is an enjoyable story not only children but for people of all ages. The following review of this story will show you about the author’s writing style and prove that Hunter's Mark is really good to read.
Overview of the plot
A calm and quiet life is enjoyed by the major character- Artist Casey Smith. However, there is only one secret in his life, and that is his identity as the wolf shifter. In the story, he tries to conceal this personality. But, at one night he has lost all his controls, and his true image comes out with the wolf racing.
The bullet of a Hunter, another character does not fail to spot the target. The killer tries to slay the prey, using some lucid principles. These two principles are to avoid the killing of an innocent and the shifters. As his new mission does not follow the states policies, he takes the advantage of the Princess Protocol. At the same time, the killer turns out to be a defender. However, the question is whether the Hunter refuses to accept the shifter.
The unique theme of the story
The story is not merely about the frightening and soulless assassinations that are done, while the weak and poor ones watch it innocently and powerlessly. Rather, this is about the gloomy moving story, where everything revolves around the unfairness, desertion, approval, and many more. While going through the story, you can easily make out the fiend in the tale.
Two characters in the story
The two characters, Casey and Hunter recognize the fact that they are friend to one another. With the more progress of the investigation, Hunter comprehends that Casey can be something more than a mere target. From Hunter, Casey learns the way of living in the world of shifter because he has been stifled all his desires to shift since several years.
The tones that you can hear from these two men are different, but both of them are very powerful characters. Casey seems to be very sweet in nature. You may not get amazed at the promptness of the love or affection because Casey was once unaccompanied, while Hunter had strong minds to stay aloof.
Moreover, both these men have haunted pasts; however the account appears to be slightly hasty. Though they have become friends, the part of showing love to one another is covered very fast. It is one of the minor problems in the story. But, when you are reading the story, you may have the wish to meet the family of Hunter.
The steamy pictures in the story are also wonderfully accomplished. And apart from the major characters, the supporting characters, like Miss Priss, a dog, are also praiseworthy.
Feeling of the readers
After reading the story, the readers may like to know whether the Hunter and Casey will live gladly in the future. In fact, the story will never bring disappointment to the mind of the readers. The development of the characters and the story line are also created in a wonderful way.

“I said, what do you want?” Ven sounded furious as he took a step towards her and Caitlyn shrank back, dropping the cooler as she raised her hands as though trying to ward him off. The box tipped over, spilling its contents across the scruffy lot and the man swore again. He stepped around the mess of food and drinks, advancing rapidly and she caught his scent, amber and dark wood beneath a layer of fresh sweat. Her wolf, normally so quiet, surged forward and she realized in terror that she was practically toe-to-toe with her mate. And he was mean and angry.
Knowing what it was to suffer at the hands of a cruel man, she turned tail and ran as fast as she could. She plunged towards the relatively safety of the trees, kicking off her shoes and dragging her clothes free as she fled.
Her wolf was whining at her to stop, but she pushed on into the heavy brush. Pausing to shed her jeans, she crouched, letting the shift take her over but making sure she retained enough control to force the wolf to keep running. The wolf howled, desperate to turn back, to catch again the glorious scent of her mate and offer her throat in submission to his dominant presence.
A heavy crash behind had her doubling her efforts and her paws scrabbled over the soft ground, seeking purchase as she ran as though the hounds of hell were on her heels. She risked a glance over her shoulder and an involuntary yip of fright loosed from her throat. An enormous gray wolf was gaining on her with every stride, the snarl on his face more terrifying than the scowl he’d worn in his human form.
She put on another burst of speed, her wolf suddenly in accordance that escape rather than submission was the best idea. Dodging around a massive pine tree, trunk broader than her back, she pulled up short at the remains of another fallen trunk that suddenly blocked her path. A snarl set her in motion again and her claws scratched at the bark as she desperately tried to clamber over the downed tree. The wood was soft, rotten in places and her front legs slid from under her as a huge set of jaws clamped around the thick fur at the back of her neck.
